5 quick ways to loosen up after an intense workout

By Michaela Tangan Published Oct 13, 2020 8:00 pm Updated Oct 13, 2020 7:21 am

After days of being a full-time couch potato, my happy hormones would sometimes come rushing out of nowhere. I would suddenly get an urge to wear my workout clothes and exercise until the sweat makes the shirt stick to my skin.

Sure, the moment of productivity and achievement feels good. However, my surprised body would tense up after a while. In times like this, I’d allow the body to cool down before giving myself an at-home, DIY spa.

Here are five easy ways to pamper yourself after a long workout:

Enjoy a good bath

Once your body has cooled down and your heart rate is back to normal, pamper yourself with a good bath. Light up the candles and dim the lights. Run cold water over the body, then switch the shower to a warm temperature to reduce inflammation and stiffness, and allow the body to flush out dead skin cells.

After lathering with soap, gently scrub the body with Cofoe Silicone Full Body Brush, which also doubles as a DIY massager.

Exfoliate

Sweat can mix with dirt and bacteria on your skin, which could lead to clogged pores, oil build-up—and if worse comes to worst—acne.

To avoid this, exfoliate the skin with Cofoe Electric Silicone Face Cleansing Brush and your preferred facial wash. The device helps get down to hard-to-reach areas and also enables the product to go deep into the skin.

Ease the pressure

If you didn’t prepare yourself for a long workout, you’ll likely feel sore in different parts of your body, especially your back.

Adjust the Cofoe Adjustable Lumbar Support according to your preference and place it on top of your yoga mat. Lay down on it, find a spot that makes you comfortable, close your eyes, and practice deep breathing.

As a bonus, you may also put this on your work chair to support your posture while doing your computer tasks.

Treat yourself to a gentle massage

Nothing beats a massage from a professional. But since we have to stay home and practice physical distancing, why not go for a DIY massage?

The good thing about this is that it doesn’t have to be grand—you can do it on the sofa while watching TV or on the bed before sleep. Start with your scalp down to the legs, brush your hair with Cofoe Guasha Comb before gently running the arch-shape side of the comb back and forth your arms and legs.

This little comb does wonders as it is designed, not only to massage the scalp and prep the hair but also, to relax muscles and promote blood circulation.

Use a pain relief plaster

If you’re an “out-and-about” kind of person, you’ll need ultra-handy things, like Cofoe Far Infrared Pain Relief Plaster.

Having a plaster you can easily keep in your pocket or makeup bag wastes no time. The heat from far infrared easily penetrates deep into the skin and can be used on different parts of the body, like arms, shoulders, hands, waist, knee, sole, and back, making it an even more ideal patch for on-the-go ladies.

Sometimes, it’s hard to find the motivation to get up, let alone work out. When you do find the strength to exercise, remember to do so because you love yourself. And with that, why don’t you give yourself a little more loving by having a mini DIY spa after.
