The Internet is seriously simping over Trese’s buff twin bodyguards, Crispin and Basilio

Netflix’s Trese has undoubtedly paved the way for Filipino representation on an international scale. With its superb animation, deep approach to local folklore, and remarkable protagonists, the show is truly a must-watch.

With most of PH Twitter now having watched the series, the same sentiment is now being spread online—with one defining comment we didn’t see coming: Crispin and Basilio are simp-worthy, apparently.

In case you didn't know, to simp for someone means to "perform excessive sympathy and attention toward another person, typically someone who doesn't reciprocate the same feelings." It's pretty much the perfect term for stans of fictional characters like Crispin and Basilio

Collectively dubbed as the Kambal (twins), the two are Alexandra Trese’s bodyguards who’ll stop at nothing to protect their “bossing.” Behind their tough facade, they’ve been described as “squabbling siblings who are an amusing mix of conyo and kanto.”

To tell them apart: Crispin is the older twin with short hair and dons the sad mask in combat, while Basilio has longer hair and wears the happy mask. Voice actors Simon Dela Cruz (Filipino version) and Griffin Puatu (English version) also undoubtedly give a certain layer of sweetness and self-awareness to the demigod gunmen.

Meanwhile, while Crispin and Basilio are getting the main audience, other fans haven't forgotten about the series' other cast of characters that definitely deserve the attention.
