State-run broadcaster People's Television Network (PTV) has restored their YouTube channel after they announced that the account had been hacked.

At 4:57 pm on May 2, PTV announced on Facebook that their official YouTube account had been "compromised" after it was renamed to "Tesla Live." They assured their followers, however, that they are taking the necessary measures to solve the issue and had contacted YouTube regarding the matter.

In a follow-up advisory, PTV shared that their account's operations are now back to normal. The unathorized change only lasted for a short period as PTV Digital "swiftly acted upon the matter" and managed to revert the channel's original name.

The network underscored that the account is under monitoring by its platform managers.

They have yet to determine who was responsible for the incident.

Established in 1974, PTV is owned by the government of the Philippines and airs locally produced news and public affairs programs and documentaries.
