Human remains found near Taylor Swift's High Watch home in Rhode Island—report
Human remains were found near pop star Taylor Swift's home in Rhode Island on May 14.
Local police confirmed to PEOPLE Magazine that they found the suspected human remains in the Watch Hill area, the enclave where Swift's seaside mansion—known as High Watch or Harkness House and formerly Holiday House—is located.
A Westerly resident told NBC 10 that the alleged remains were found "a couple of football fields away" from Swift's home.
"I would never expect anything like that—especially not in Watch Hill," a certain Taylor Day said.
Authorities uncovered "what appeared to be a human leg bone" upon arriving at the scene on Everett Avenue at around 9:30 a.m. The remains were transported to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office for analysis.
"Investigators are awaiting official confirmation of the identity of the remains," the police said in a statement. "No foul play is suspected at this time."
According to the New York Times, Swift bought her home in 2013 for $17.75 million (P986.4 million now), reportedly in an all-cash deal.
She's known for hosting Fourth of July parties there, with her celebrity friends in attendance, including Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Selena Gomez, Blake Lively, and Ryan Reynolds.
The house was built in the 1920s. It overlooks East Beach and the Atlantic Ocean.
Its former owner, Rebekah West Harkness, was the subject of her song the last great american dynasty.
Watch Hill is known for its homes in the Victorian style, which is characterized by ornate details, dark wood, heavy pattern fabric, rich color palette, layered interiors, geometric tiles, and decorative fireplaces. According to the Times, it "impresses visitors with a strong sense of privacy and of discreetly used wealth."
