Jennylyn Mercado to remain as GMA artist amid network transfer rumors

Jennylyn Mercado’s manager, Becky Aguila, has quashed rumors that the actress is set to transfer to another network after she was noticeably absent from GMA Network’s latest Station ID.

In a statement sent to The Philippine STAR, the founder of Aguila Entertainment stressed that Mercado remains loyal to her home network where she has been an artist since 2003.

"I just want to clarify to those who keep on insinuating re: the issue of network transfer that Jennylyn is a loyal artist of GMA and will always remain loyal for as long as her mother network wants her to stay," Aguila said.

The transfer rumors came after her noticeable absence from GMA's Station ID that was released on June 28. The video features personalities such as Jessica Soho, Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera, Julie Anne San Jose, Andrea Torres, Alden Richards, Heart Evangelista, and more.

Regarding Mercado's non-appearance, her manager explained, "She was absent from the station ID simply because she was unavailable that day. Rest assured GMA extended an invitation to her, which we very much appreciate."

Aguila ended her statement by appealing to the public to "stop spreading hate and false accusations online."

Earlier, Aguila Entertainment also addressed the controversial comments made through the TikTok account of Mercado's husband Dennis Trillo in line with her rumored transfer.

The management team said that the account had been hacked around noontime of July 1.

"There were some comments made using his name and we assure everyone that it was not his doing," Aguila said, adding that it's "very unlikely of Dennis to make such remarks."

They also noted that the actor "is a person who has nothing but kindness and respect in his heart."

To date, the comments in Trillo's post have been deleted and replies have been limited.

Mercado rose to prominence after winning the reality talent competition StarStruck back in 2003. Afterward, her career in the entertainment industry continued to foster with acclaimed performances on television and film.
