Here's how to check the status of your driver’s license plastic card

The Land Transportation Office National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) launched an online portal for requesting and checking the availability of driver's license cards.

According to LTO-NCR Regional Director Roque "Rox" Verzosa III, the new online system, which is accessible through the official LTO-NCR website, provides a "convenient" solution for motorists to track their card status and submit print requests for back-log license cards.

However, the online service is exclusively available to clients who have renewed or applied for their driver's licenses at the LTO-NCR offices.

The regional director said that the system enables users to request and claim their driver's license cards "only at the specific LTO office where the transaction took place" to ensure a streamlined process and improve overall efficiency in card distribution.

How to get started?

For print requests of back-log driver's license cards, go to this link.

Be sure to have your LTO Client ID, the name of the LTO field office where you renewed your license, and its office code number ready.

You'll also need to provide other personal information such as driver's license number, driver's license classification, full name, suffix (if applicable), sex, birth date, email address, and contact number.

The LTO noted that if you have a Viber account, you may also input it into the contact number box for faster communication.

Meanwhile, to check the status of your license card print request, go to this link. Input your driver's license number or fill out the necessary information, then click the "Search" button.

Where to claim it?

License card requests and claims are available at select Driver's License Renewal Offices (DLROs) and licensing centers, such as Ali Mall in Cubao, Eastwood, Robinsons Place Manila, Quezon City Licensing Center, Caloocan Licensing Extension Office, Pateros Extension Office, and La Loma District Office.

As per its website, the client must personally claim their driver's license card upon distribution.

On the other hand, Verzosa assured that additional LTO-NCR offices will soon be integrated into the online system.

"The LTO-NCR is committed to expanding this service to ensure that more clients can benefit from the convenience of online access to their Driver's License Cards," he said.

Earlier in May 2023, LTO announced that the electronic driver's license would serve as an alternative to the temporary paper-based licenses being issued by the agency amid the shortage of plastic cards used to print licenses, reflecting the same security features found on the physical driver's license.
