Eumir Marcial's brother-in-law reinforces infidelity, abuse claims as boxer is 'not stopping sooner with his lies'
Trigger warning: This article deals with violence against women and abuse.
The brother-in-law of Eumir Marcial called him out for "not stopping sooner with his lies," reinforcing his sister's infidelity and abuse allegations against the boxer.
In a Facebook post on Jan. 14, Kester Galarpe noted he lived with Princess and Eumir from late 2020 to August 2024.
"Bold of you to assume that abuse can only take form physically, when I, myself, was a witness to how you verbally and emotionally abused my sister," Kester said. "Just by the mere fact that you cheated, the amount of emotional pain and mental torture you caused her is enough reason to put you behind bars."
Kester said his family chose to stay silent about it for months, trying to protect Eumir's "dirty secret and what little dignity you have left."
He noted that it was Princess and Eumir's wedding anniversary when she signed an affidavit of desistance, a document formally withdrawing a criminal complaint that she filed against the athlete after she allegedly caught him with another woman.
"I know, life can be so ironic sometimes," Kester said. "One day you’re saying your wedding vows in front of God, the next day you’re manipulating your wife to let you out of the jail."
He said that while Eumir was "enjoying some intimate time with another woman," he left Princess' emotional and mental health "deteriorated."
Kester noted that her sister still chose to forgive Eumir and gave him a second chance even after placing her in "such a difficult position."
"The only mistake of my sister is that she loved you too much she was willing to overlook this fact," he said. "Others may find this stupid but that speaks of her commitment to God and your marriage, something you clearly do not have."
Kester also pointed out that when Eumir and his alleged mistress were allegedly caught together at an Airbnb condominium, he used all of his "strength and power to protect the other woman even if it means physically hurting your wife."
"And even now when the truth was made public, you’re out here lying to try and twist the narrative in order to protect your name and the name of your mistress," he said. "You even have the audacity to apologize to your mistress and her family, but not to your own wife."
Kester claimed people are "not falling" for Eumir's "poor-scripted alibis and lies."
"Instead, you have allowed the public to see the real you—a chronic manipulator and gaslighting cheater," he added. "Can’t wait for the day you’ll receive the karma you so desperately deserve. Until then, I hope your conscience won’t give you peace."
Infidelity, abuse allegations
On Jan. 10, Princess aired their dirty laundry on Facebook, saying she's taking legal action against Eumir for alleged infidelity, manipulation, and abuse.
"I caught Eumir having an affair in October last year. I, along with my sister, have personally caught them inside an Airbnb condominium in Pasay where we had them both arrested at a police station," she said, adding that her husband and his alleged mistress had to be temporarily detained for five days.
Princess said she gave Marcial "multiple chances to make amends with our marriage" and permitted his release by signing an affidavit of desistance. The alleged mistress also signed the compromise agreement "thinking Eumir would take this chance to correct his mistake and do better."
But according to Princess, Eumir continued to manipulate her afterward, still fostering a "sickening love affair" with his alleged mistress.
On Jan. 14, Princess's lawyer Atty. Alel Auxillos-Cayanan, shared with PhilSTAR L!fe photos of the marks allegedly caused by Eumir. They showed a scratch on her right eye as well as bruises on her right leg.
On his Facebook page, Eumir shared a news report about Princess' marks due to his alleged beating, in which he asked, "Ganyan ba mangbugbog ang boksingero?"
'Just a friend'
Marcial spoke with Zamboanga media to deny the infidelity and domestic abuse allegations.
He insisted that his alleged mistress was just his friend whose wallet got lost in his car before. He added that he met up with her only to return her wallet.
He also denied claims that he ordered the construction of a house for his alleged mistress, noting that it's least likely especially since he cannot even do it for his parents.
He also insisted that his marriage with Princess has long been on the rocks, claiming they've already separated before he was seen with another woman.
Princess and Marcial tied the knot in 2021 after being together for nine years. Their wedding took place a year after the boxer achieved a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics.
Marcial previously competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics, but ended his journey without getting the gold after he lost to Turabek Khabibullaev of Uzbekistan via unanimous decision in the 16th round of the men's 80kg division.
