Sara Duterte declares P77 million net worth in 2023
Vice President Sara Duterte reported a net worth of P77.5 million in her 2023 financial disclosure statement.
Duterte had a P77,508,84 net worth, which was disclosed in the copies of her Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth for 2023, as obtained by News5 from Bicol Saro Party-list Rep. Terry Ridon.
Filed jointly with her husband, Atty. Manases Carpio, the couple disclosed total assets of P80,058,841.00 consiting of their private vehicles, with P2,550,000.00 in liabilities recorded under his name.
The SALN also shared an update on their asset list, including over 20 residential properties acquired through purchase in Igacos (Samal Island), Davao City, and Quezon City.
It also declared her business and financial connections, as well as relatives in public positions, including her siblings, Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, mayor of Davao City, and Paolo Duterte, representative of Davao City’s 1st district.
In 2024, the vice president declared a P88.5 million net worth, a P17 million jump from P71 million when she took office in 2022.
Duterte is facing an impeachment complaint over her accusations of misusing public funds, bribery tied to government contracts, along with threats to kill the president, the first lady, and a former House speaker who is also the president’s cousin.
Early this week, the Commission on Audit ordered Duterte's office to return P375 million in confidential funds, issuing a notice of disallowance for funds released in three P125 million cash advances in 2023.
It held accountable Duterte, OVP special disbursement officer Gina Acosta, chief accountant Julieta Villadelrey, and head of the Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group Col. Raymund Dante Lachica.
During the April 14 hearing at the House of Representatives, COA affirmed its notice of disallowance for P73 million in the OVP's confidential fund expenses in 2022.
Duterte's alleged bagman claimed that the OVP's 2022 confidential funds worth P125 million were "disposed" in a single day.
The House justice committee hearing is set for April 22.
