PH's Kayla Jean Carter ends Miss Charm 2024 journey in Top 20
Philippines' bet Kayla Jean Carter ended her Miss Charm journey in the top 20 during the coronation night held at the Nguyen Du Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on Saturday, Dec. 21.
The Filipino American beauty queen reached the first half of the competition as she strutted the runway in her sultry pink swimsuit. However, she failed to advance to the Top 10.
Nonetheless, the Miss Philippines organization greeted Carter for her performance during the international competition via an Instagram post.
"You charmed us all. Congratulations for bringing the Philippines all the way to the Top 20, Kayla!" the caption read.
During the preliminaries, she donned an aubergine beaded evening gown by Mara Chua, inspired by the Tree of Souls from James Cameron's Avatar.
She also paid tribute to the country's flag during the national costume, wearing a detailed red, blue, and white gown representing the colors of the Philippine flag crafted by fashion designer Ryan Ablaza Uson.
Meanwhile, Malaysia's Rashmita Rasindran was hailed as this year's title holder. She was crowned by her predecessor, Luma Russo of Brazil.
Carter was announced as the new Miss Charm Philippines 2024 earlier in July after Krishnah Gravidez announced in June that she was officially withdrawing from the international competition.
Before her Miss Charm stint, the 27-year-old Fil-Am beauty queen, who has familial roots in Talisay, Cebu, represented Northern California in Miss Universe Philippines 2024.
