Talk about luck: Man wins lottery jackpot three times in 11 months using the same set of numbers
After winning the $100,000 (nearly P6 million) jackpot twice in 2022, a lucky man hit the top prize again this April using the same set of numbers.
According to a PEOPLE report, a 52-year-old bettor—who refused to be identified—bet $1 (P55) on numbers 4-8-5-4-8 with two tickets for the Pick 5 game and took home a whopping $100,000 (almost P6 million) on May 18 last year.
Completing the circle, he claimed his third jackpot win earlier this month amounting to $50,000 (nearly P3 million), which earned him the nickname "Big Winner."
The “Big Winner” credited his wins to his wife, who asked him to keep the same digits in every lotto bet after his first win.
"It hit last year, and it hit again," he said. "My wife said, ‘Let’s play this number and we keep winning with it.'"
His feat also “debunked” the common belief that lucky digits will not win again after they are drawn.
"He believes that most winners stop playing after their lucky number is drawn and incorrectly think their number will never hit again,” said lottery officials.
Winning the jackpot thrice, the "Big Winner" said he will continue to try his luck at the lottery.
"I play the lottery all the time. You never know [what will happen]," he said. "You can't win if you are not in it."
The "Big Winner" plans to treat his wife to a special vacation after bagging a total of $150,000 (over P8 million) in total from the lotto.
