LIST: Malls offering free overnight parking on July 9 amid Typhoon Inday
Several mall are offering free overnight parking to motorists for July 9, and some, for the duration of Typhoon Inday.
In the early hours of Thursday, July 9, DOST-PAGASA reclassified Super Typhoon Inday to Typhoon level.
Its pull on the southwest monsoon continues, though by 2 p.m., PAGASA-Mindanao PRSD downgraded its heavy rainfall warnings to moderate to occasionally heavy rains over multiple provinces in Mindanao due to habagat.
In response to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority's call for mall operators in Luzon to allow free overnight parking "until the passage of the typhoon," several have opened their parking lots for free at least for July 9.

Newport Mall
Starting 9 p.m. on July 9 until Typhoon Inday passes, Newport Mall is waiving overnight parking fees, though regular parking rates will still apply. The mall will also offer its wifi free to those needing shelter from the typhoon.
