7 Philippine firms among Forbes Asia’s 2026 Best Under A Billion list
Seven Philippine firms were recognized in Forbes Asia's 2026 Best Under A Billion list, which honors high-performing small and mid-sized publicly listed companies across the Asia-Pacific region.
In the latest list, the Philippine companies include A. Soriano—the holding company of Seven Seas Resorts and Leisure, owner of Amanpulo—with sales of US$256 million (about P15.6 billion); ApexMining, one of the country's largest gold producers, with US$357 million (about P21.8 billion); and Asia United Bank, with US$505 million (about P30.8 billion).
Also included are educational institutions Far Eastern University, with US$100 million (about P6.1 billion), and STI Education System Holdings, with US$97 million (about P5.9 billion); Pryce Corporation, a memorial parks operator, with US$370 million (about P22.6 billion); and Vivant Corporation, a power generation and water infrastructure company, with US$177 million (about P10.8 billion).
The list recognized 200 publicly listed small and mid-sized Asia-Pacific companies with annual sales between $10 million and $1 billion for their strong financial performance amid geopolitical tensions and volatile energy markets. It includes companies across industries such as technology, semiconductors, electric vehicles, renewable energy, software, and AI infrastructure.
China led the list with 28 companies, followed by India with 27 and Malaysia with 19, while 60 firms were returning honorees from the 2025 list.
Firms were selected from more than 19,000 publicly listed Asia-Pacific companies. Selection was based on a composite score measuring long-term performance, including debt, one- and three-year sales and earnings-per-share growth, and one- and five-year average return on equity.
Companies with significant governance, accounting, environmental, management, or legal issues, as well as state-controlled entities and subsidiaries, were excluded. The criteria also sought to ensure geographic diversity across the region. Financial data were based on the latest publicly available figures as of July 10, 2026.
