Trellis, a restaurant in Quezon City, shared that it has received overwhelming support after it was featured on the Netflix series Somebody Feed Phil.

"For the first time in 45 years, something we never thought possible, we have sold out our sisig," it said in a Facebook post on June 22.

However, if you're visiting Trellis on June 23, their signature sisig will be available, as they make the dish fresh daily.

The documentary's host Phil Rosenthal dined at Chef Claude Tayag's Trellis with content creator Erwan Heussaff, who introduced the American to sisig.

"Sisig is one of those very important dishes in Filipino cuisine in general, so when you want to try sisig, you want to try it as close as possible to the original," he said, recommending Kapampangan-style sisig.

Rosenthal and Heussaff ate the dish as "pulutan" with some beer.

On Facebook, Trellis shared that they also served the two pititchan with atchara and fried tilapia with burong hipon.

Rosenthal visited different parts of the Philippines, where he dined at roadside eateries and high-end food places, for the eighth installment of Somebody Feed Phil.

He shared a meal with jeepney drivers at Aling Sosing's Carinderia in Quiapo, dined with Wilma Doesnt at her "five-star carinderia" Chicks ni Otit, had dinner at Toyo Eatery, snorkeled at Pico de Loro, and visited Chele Gonzalez's Adador Alfonso in Tagaytay.

When he returned to Manila, Rosenthal gathered everyone who took part in the show at Grace Park, where they were also joined by the restaurant's late co-founder Chef Margarita Fores.

When asked about his memorable moment in the Philippines, he said, "Every one keeps topping the last one. Toyo was absolutely brilliant. Asador was brilliant. William’s brilliant. It’s phenomenal. Such talent at this table.”

"As I’ve said I’ve had Filipino food before. I love it," he continued. "It’s having its moment but if you really want the best of the best, I think you have to come because then you get to experience the richness of the culture that embraces its diverse influences and creates the sublime: a unique and undeniably world class cuisine."

Trellis serves homemade dishes from Pampanga. Its menu includes sisig, pititchan, adobong puti, crackling liempo, bicol express, kare-kare, bulalo steak, inihaw na pusit, bistig bangus, pancit bihon, and more.

It's located at 40 Matalino st. cor Kalayaan Ave., Brgy. Central, Quezon City and is also available via GrabFood.
