A headless body was found at a short-stay "love" hotel in Sapporo in Japan.

The Japan Times reported that the victim was found naked on July 2, Sunday and that they're still searching for the person who entered with him in the room.

Police believe the head and clothes were taken away by the suspect in an attempt to prevent identification.

Security cameras showed the pair entering the hotel premises on July 1 at around 10:50 p.m. The suspect left the room alone at around 2 a.m. carrying a suitcase.

The suspect, described as "small," wore a wide-brimmed hat and women’s clothing, according to The Japan Times.

The victim, identified as 62-year-old Hitoshi Ura, meanwhile had surgical scars where his appendix had been removed.

Autopsy also showed the victim bled to death, and his head was severed afterward.

The police believe the man was killed in the bathroom, where a hotel employee found his body.
