LOOK: Newly-renovated Pasig City Library is now open
While cozy cafés are everywhere in the country, free public library spaces that offer a conducive environment for productivity are few and far between—and rarely talked about.
But if you’ve been looking for a new study or reading spot, Pasig City might have just the place as their public library just got a major glow-up!
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announced that their newly-renovated city library is now open, welcoming visitors with upgraded spaces and improved facilities.
Located along Caruncho Avenue in San Nicolas, the library cost around P87 million to build and boasts a total of five floors.
The first floor holds the children's section while the general reading area is located on the fourth floor. The fifth floor is meanwhile reserved for those who want to review for their studies.
The library is open for both Pasig City residents and non-residents, and you don't have to spend a single penny as entrance is entirely free.
However, you can only read the books inside the premises as they are not yet available to be borrowed.
As for internet access, the space offers free Wi-Fi on the fifth floor. Simply approach the information counter to get the details on how you can connect.
You can also bring your laptops and other gadgets inside, with charging sockets available throughout the space. Those without their own devices can make use of the library’s computers on the fourth floor for research, browsing, and other academic needs.
One of the more exciting sections in the library is their al fresco area, and Sotto teased that this may be used for a concessionaire or a coffee shop, but said they will still hold a competitive selection process for this.
The Pasig City library is open from Monday to Thursday starting at 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
