LRT-2 to offer free rides on Dec. 30

Heads up, commuters!

In commemoration of the 127th death anniversary of our country's national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, the Light Rail Transit Line 2 will be offering free rides on Rizal Day, Dec. 30.

The said free rides would be available during peak hours from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. It will resume in the afternoon to early evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The first trains will leave Recto and Antipolo stations at 5 a.m. The last trip schedule at Antipolo station is 9 p.m. and Recto station at 9:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, the operating hours for New Year's Eve will be shortened, with a last trip departing Antipolo station at 7 p.m. and Recto station at 7:30 p.m.

Normal operations will resume on January 1 at 5 a.m.

In the past, LRT-2 has given free rides to students, government workers, senior citizens, seafarers, and athletes. It has also extended the offer to the public in observance of special events like International Women's Day and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
