What you need to know about the Trillion Peso March Part 3 happening on Feb. 25
The third Trillion Peso March will take place on Feb. 25, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
According to Tindig Pilipinas, a coalition of pro-democracy groups, Trillion Peso March Part 3 will run on the theme, "Tayo ang People Power laban sa korapsyon at dinastiya." It is being organized by several groups, including church and civil society organizations, youth advocates, Martial Law veterans, and family members of extra-judicial killings.
Consistent with the previous two rallies, the third installment of the protest is calling for a definitive end to corruption and political dynasties in the Philippines.
"Tayo ang People Power—at tayo ang magtatapos sa sinimulan noong 1986," said Akbayan president Rafaela David.
As it announced its participation in the march, Akbayan wrote on Facebook that the event centers around three pillars: "honoring People Power’s heroes, putting an end against dynasties, and securing the people’s victory over corruption and poverty."
At a press conference on Feb. 11, Kiko Aquino-Dee, co-convenor of the Buhayin ang People Power Movement, said seeking the resignations of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte will not be part of the agenda on Feb. 25.
Lead-up activities
Trillion Peso March Part 3 is not just a one-day affair. Several events held in the days leading up to the main rally have been organized by affiliated organizations:
- Feb. 22, 7 a.m.: ROAR! Walk for People Power
- Venue: Araneta Center, Cubao
- Feb. 22, 12 noon: Holy Mass presided by Cardinal Pablo Virgilio "Ambo" David
- Venue: EDSA Shrine
- Feb. 22, 2 p.m.: Prayer power
- Venue: EDSA Shrine grounds
- Feb. 23, 10 a.m.: People Power protest action vs extra-judicial killings, coinciding with the first day of the International Criminal Court's hearing of charges against former president Rodrigo Duterte
Program schedule on Feb. 25
Tindig Pilipinas has laid out the program for Feb. 25. Several activities will be taking place in multiple points along EDSA:
- 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. - Prayer march with civil society and religious leaders from EDSA Shrine to Club Filipino, in commemoration of former President Cory Aquino's oath-taking as president
- 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. - Opening of booths and pre-program at the People Power Monument along White Plains Ave. cor. EDSA.
- 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. - Main program: Tayo ang People Power at the People Power Monument
- 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. High mass, presided by Archbishop Soc Villega at the EDSA Shrine
- 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.: The People's Power: Launch of YSpeak 2.0 at ETON Centris
Around 4 p.m., there will be a simultaneous commemoration of the event in 86 Catholic dioceses nationwide.
The agenda of Trillion Peso March Part 3
According to Tindig Pilipinas, the organizers of the third installment of Trillion Peso March are calling for the government to pass the Anti-Dynasty Law, Party-List Reform Law, and other systemic reforms; prosecute all the main perpetrators of the flood control scandal; and recover ill-gotten wealth from all plunderers.
It also urges to hand down justice for past and present victims of human rights abuses, form a truth commission and ensure reparations for extrajudicial killings under the Duterte administration, and counter historical revisionism about martial law.
The first Trillion Peso March was held on Sept. 21, 2025, coinciding with the commemoration of the martial law declaration. A second anti-corruption protest followed on Bonifacio Day, Nov. 30.
