NBI now looking for Jam Ignacio after allegedly abusing fiancée Jellie Aw
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is now looking for disc jockey Jellie Aw's fiancé, Jam Ignacio, after he was accused of being physically violent with her.
Per GMA News, NBI chief Jaime Santiago said that they are now taking action against Jam after Jellie had formally filed a complaint against him for alleged abuse.
"Hinahabol natin 'yung kanyang boyfriend. So I asked her baka naman lumuhod sa iyo ito, patawarin mo, sabi niya hindi. Tuturuan daw niya ng leksiyon. She wants the boyfriend to go to jail," Santiago told reporters in a briefing.
"Kung suwe-suwertehin tayo, within the day, makukuha natin 'yung boyfriend niya para mapanagot sa kasalanan na ginawa niya," he added.
The police chief went on to urge other victims of abuse to seek help from authorities as this kind of act should not be condoned.
"'Wag kayong hayaan ninyo na abusuhin kayo ng inyong mga boyfriend. Alam niyo, walang 'I love you' forever. Kapag sinasaktan na kayo, hindi na kayo mahal niyan dahil hindi nga sinasaktan ang babae," Santiago stressed.
Meanwhile, Jellie said in an interview that while she still has the contact number of Jam, she is unsure whether she would be able to get in touch with him as he might have already known about the case against him.
"Ang message ko lang sa kanya, madali lang naman magpatawad eh, pero 'yung ginawa niya sa'kin, hindi ko makakalimutan 'yun. Iba 'yung trauma eh. Ang hirap matulog, lagi kong naaalala 'yung ginawa niya sa'kin," she said.
"So gusto ko lang, Jam, na harapin mo 'yung ginawa mo sa'kin. 'Yun lang, para hindi mo na magawa sa ibang babae," she continued.
Jellie expressed her gratitude to God for allowing her to see Jam's true personality before they managed to take their relationship to the altar.
She took to her social media pages early morning of Wednesday, Feb. 12 to share photos of her swollen and bruised-up face after allegedly being beaten by Jam, who is the ex-boyfriend of TV host Karla Estrada.
Her sister, Jo Aw, detailed the incident, saying Jam suddenly beat up Jellie in a locked car.
She added that Jellie was only able to cry for help when they were at a toll gate. Jellie then got a medical checkup before they filed a police report.
The two got engaged in November last year after four months of dating.
Jam previously dated Karla from 2019 until their breakup last year. In her guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Karla revealed he is her only ex she is not friends with.
If you are, or if you personally know someone experiencing domestic violence, don’t hesitate to seek help to stop the abuse.
