Where to get free jeepney rides until Oct. 1

Do you have plans this coming weekend? You can save on fare if you will be around Quezon City any day until Oct. 1. 

Food and grocery delivery platform Foodpanda has launched its eye-catching pink jeeps that offer free rides to commuters along the routes of Cubao to Marikina, and Monumento to EDSA-Rotonda. 

These jeeps are part of the brand's holiday campaign, which aims to bring a "spirit of joy and energy throughout the festive season.

If you don’t feel like going out, the delivery platform offers many discounts this month, including 10% cash back plus a free Viu subscription for three days to all Pandapro users. Use the code “PROCB” in your orders from go-to stores and restaurants any day until Sept. 30.

Government agencies earlier in the week also offered free rides for commuters on Sept. 23 and 24 due to the two-day transport strike of groups Manibela and Piston. The groups are protesting the Public Utility Vehicle modernization program as the deadline for consolidating to franchises has lapsed. 

Meanwhile, earlier in the month, the MRT-3 and LRT-2 allowed government employees to ride the trains for free from Sept. 18 to 20 as part of the Philippine Civil Service's 124th anniversary.
