Single mothers can now compete in Reina Hispanoamericana
Single mothers are now welcome to join Reina Hispanoamericana!
In a statement, the pageant organization announced that it has updated its eligibility requirements to allow single mothers to compete starting with the 2027 edition, opening the door to a wider pool of aspiring candidates.
"This decision marks an important step in our evolution, recognizing that beauty, leadership, preparation, and dreams know no limits," they said.
"Many extraordinary women have embraced the beautiful journey of motherhood while continuing to pursue their personal and professional goals," they added.
They noted that candidates must be between 18 and 33 years of age and meet all other requirements established by the organization.
"We firmly believe that this new chapter will allow more inspiring women to become part of the Reina Hispanoamericana family, enriching our platform with their stories of dedication, love, resilience, and perseverance. Because being a mother is also a symbol of strength, commitment, and greatness," they highlighted.
Managed by Promociones Gloria, Reina Hispanoamericana initially featured only South American participants when it was established in 1991, but has since expanded to include contestants from all over the world.
The Philippines joined the competition in 2017 with its first-ever representative, Winwyn Marquez, who was also crowned the winner during the grand finals.
It wasn't until 2025 that the country captured its second crown through Dia Mate, who emerged victorious in the international pageant held in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
The current titleholder is Kimberly de Boer from Curaçao, who was crowned in February in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
