Local restaurant Mama Lou’s Italian Kitchen is lending a helping hand to those suffering from the effects of super typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon.

In an Instagram post, the food place announced that they are allowing those who were stranded by the relentless rains to take shelter in their premises until the storm passes.

Not only that, but they are also offering a free serving of their macaroni soup to give "comfort and strength" to the victims of the typhoon.

"In the midst of bad weather, Mama Lou’s Italian Kitchen opens its doors to people who are stranded, offering free Zuppa di Maccheroni, our comforting macaroni soup. Come in and warm with us while the storm passes," the restaurant stated.

"Together at Mama Lou's, let's find comfort and strength," they added.

The offer is available in Mama Lou's Alfresco Silang Cavite, Ayala Malls Solenad, BF Homes Las Piñas, Madison Galeries, Evia Lifestyle Center, Ayala Malls North Exchange, Venice Grand Canal Mall, SM City Sto. Tomas, Alabang West Parade - Premio, and SM City Clark.

According to PAGASA's 11 a.m. advisory, the habagat enhanced by Carina will bring moderate to intense rainfall over various localities in the western portion of Luzon until Friday, July 26.

As of 5 p.m. the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration declared Carina a super typhoon. It also raised a red warning level in Metro Manila, Rizal, Bataan, Zambales, Bulacan, and Pampanga. This means about 30-65 millimeters of rain per hour.

Metro Manila has also been put in a state of calamity due to the floods and rainfall.
