Here's how to access your Digital National ID
Do you still not have your physical National ID? Well, you can access its digital version for now.
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) recently launched the Digital National ID, along with authentication platforms, National ID eVerify and National ID Check.
The National ID allows Filipinos easier access to financial, social protection, health, education, and other government services, aside from being a valid proof of identity to be used in public and private transactions.
It has no expiration date once issued to Filipino citizens, and it will only be renewed upon updating demographic and biometric information. On the other hand, those issued to resident aliens are only valid for one year but can be renewed annually.
According to PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, "every registered Filipino now has improved access to a reliable and secure proof of identity that can be easily authenticated on their devices."
"This will facilitate the faster distribution and wider utilization of the National ID, with relying parties finding it easier to onboard to the National ID system,” he added.

How to authenticate a digital ID
Government agencies such as NGAs, LGUs, GOCCs, and SUCs, as well as private employers and other organizations can use the National ID eVerify to authenticate a person's identity quickly and safely. It uses facial recognition to check if someone's face matches the photo in the National ID registry, helping prevent fraud and make onboarding processes smoother.
The National ID eVerify also has a feature called the National ID Check. This is a simpler option within National ID eVerify. You can use it to quickly confirm if a National ID is legitimate by scanning its QR code.
The National ID program is open to everyone, including children from 0 to 4 years old. If you haven't registered yet, here's how to get started.
