Will Joy Fabregas and Ethan Del Rosario's ill-fated love story finally have its happily ever after?

Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards will return as on-screen partners in Hello, Love, Again, the sequel to the blockbuster 2019 film Hello, Love, Goodbye.

According to a report by Deadline, the sequel will be helmed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, who also directed the original film.

"I am as excited as all of you perhaps, to find out what Joy and Ethan had gone through after Hello, Love, Goodbye and will be going through in Hello, Love, Again," the director said as per the media outlet.

The story will be shot in Canada and follow the story of Joy (Bernardo) and Ethan (Richards), which will be set five years after the former said goodbye to the latter and left Hong Kong to pursue her dreams in Canada.

Moreover, when Joy and Ethan reunite in Canada after battling for their love to overcome time, distance, and a "global shutdown" that kept them apart, they discover that each of them has undergone significant personal growth.

The film is set to be released theatrically in the Philippines on November 13 and then internationally thereafter.

Further details, such as other cast members who will also reprise their roles, have yet to be announced.

Hello, Love, Again is the first collaboration on a film between ABS-CBN's film production outfit Star Cinema and GMA Network's film production company GMA Pictures.

In 2019, Hello, Love Goodbye became the highest-grossing Philippine film of all time, with a total revenue of P880 million before Rewind surpassed it in January 2024.

Set in Hong Kong, the original film follows struggling domestic helper Joy becoming friends with bartender Ethan, who's fulfilling his dreams as an incoming permanent resident. They fall in love but their life plans differ—Ethan wants to build a life in Hong Kong while Joy is moving to Canada.
