British Council brings back the IELTS fair this March

Published Mar 02, 2023 4:03 pm

Many are becoming more open to seeking better opportunities abroad. Canada alone is looking for about 500,000 immigrants by 2025, while New Zealand is giving scholarships to 16 Filipinos who want to pursue masters and doctorate studies in their country.

But to be able to qualify, one must pass the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam, a requirement to be taken by individuals planning to study, work, or immigrate to English-speaking countries like US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. This exam will test their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. If you're looking for some tips on how to ace it, you may want to head towards the IELTS Fair this March.

The British Council has announced that they are bringing back their annual event this month in Baguio, Manila, Cebu and Davao, where interested enrollees can engage with representatives from review centers, education agencies, immigration consultancies, and recruitment firms.

Through this, test takers can better take advantage of global opportunities and equip themselves with the knowledge and resources that they need to succeed.

The fair will take place from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm at the following venues:

  • March 4 – Ion Hotel, Legarda Rd., Baguio City
  • March 11 – Quest Hotel, Archbishop Reyes Ave., Cebu City
  • March 18 – Crowne Plaza, Ortigas Centre
  • March 25 – Pinnacle Hotel, Poblacion District, Davao City

The fair will have experts from different education agencies and recruitment firms discuss the ways on how test takers can find great career paths through IELTS.

There will also be past test takers who will share some tips and best practices to keep in mind in acing the components of the exam.

Back in November last year, education consultant International Education Specialists Philippines revealed that there are approximately 49,000 Filipino students taking their studies overseas, which is what prompted them to expand their IELTS laboratories in Pampanga, Davao, and Bacolod.
