Solane holds 7th golf tournament
After a rousing return to the fairway last year for the first time in the post-pandemic period, Solane LPG braved on and turned another page to its storied journey in style with its seventh golf tournament.
But there’s more to it than just swinging the clubs and putting the balls through the greens of each one of the challenging 18-hole course at the Tagaytay Midlands in Talisay, Batangas.
With the majestic view of the Taal Lake hovering on the undulating fairways as a backdrop, Solane’s big bosses and executives dapped it up with partners, clients, and distributors in the annual field day to celebrate friendship, camaraderie, and most importantly—gratitude.
“Every year, more and more customers choose Solane, both consumers and businesses. I’m just so happy that the service we’ve been given is appreciated,” said Jose Ricardo Delgado, IPG Group’s EXCOM Chairman.
This year was no different as Solane, the flagship brand of one of the leading energy solutions providers in the country, notched the gear higher for distinguished partners and beloved clients.
More than 100 golfers, including IPG’s international affiliates, duked it out in the fun tourney under the warmth of a sunny friday and the fresh Tagaytay breeze—mirroring Solane’s vision of bringing ‘peace of mind’ to every Filipino.
The 7th Solane Golf Tournament—made possible by tournament heads Manna Pinto, B2B Sales Operations Manager (ILC); Allan Christopher Santos, B2B Brand Manager (ILC); and Beng Mercado, Marketing, Brand, and PR Manager (MHI)—also strengthened the synergy and collaboration with partners MHI Investment Holdings, Inc., Supply Oilfield Services (SOS), Xisco, Isla Logistics Corporation, and Turkish Airlines as event sponsors.
“I remember talking to the staff since Day 1 that the Philippines is such a big country and I’m sure at least 20% want to deal with a company they can trust. And I think I’ve been proven right,” added Delgado, recalling his father’s influence on him to champion the clients as the company’s top priority all the time.
“That spirit of service is very much in me and very much in our team. I feel like that has been the difference between us and our competitors. Everybody in our company has that spirit of service, wanting to do the right things for our customers and taking relationships with a long-term view.”
Well, Delgado and Solane did.
In line with its 7th Solane Golf Tournament, Solane reiterated the unmatched programs that have separated it from its peers for five decades and counting.
Aimed at delivering no less than peace of mind at the very heart of every Filipino, Solane’s brand of sustainable and reliable LPG is backed by solid and top-notch technical know-how from the country’s industry experts for a bevy of valuable clients from households to malls, restaurants, and micro, small, and medium enterprises to a wide array of industrial applications.
And Solane could not have done it through the years if not for a methodical, prudent, and goal-oriented approach—like golf.
“LPG actually means ‘let’s play golf’. Golf is pretty much business. It’s tough, especially at the beginning. To succeed, you need grit, discipline, and patience,” said IPG Chief Operating Officer Banjo Castillo.
“It gets less difficult and more enjoyable when you do it with partners you really like to play with. And this is what we’re celebrating here in the Solane golf tournament. You, our customers, our partners, our distributors that have stayed with us through the years made the journey of business very enjoyable for us. Big thanks to all of you.”
Delgado and Castillo weren’t alone in welcoming clients and partners as Citadel Pacific LTD.’s former Group CFO Willie Sarmiento, IPG Chief Executive Officer Tomoaki Asai, Isla LPG Corporation Chief Executive Officer Tonito Gonzalez, IPG Chief Financial Officer Trisha Sicat-Hamoy, Citadel Pacific LTD. Chief Operating Officer Jay Olivarez, MHI Group President and CEO Bong Catequista, Xisco President and CEO Jay Fernando, MHI Head of Aviation Group Ramon Magno, Isla Logistics Corporation President Tristan Dumlao, and MHI Group CFO Nancie Rivera also graced the event.
For them, Solane is here to stay grounded on and is ready to grow, develop, and innovate sustainable solutions as part of the bigger customer proposition grounded on a strategic supply and distribution network, unmatched operational safety and technical expertise, as well as environmental consciousness and sustainability.
Next year, Solane will be back for its 8th golf tournament but for now—and every day since its foundation—it will return to its roots of catering genuine account management and solid service integrity as a holistic commitment to continuing the legacy to delight the market by bringing peace of mind to every Filipino.
Solane also left no stone unturned in finishing the 18 holes of the elegant Tagaytay Midlands as all proceeds from the mulligans sold during the tournament will go to the beneficiaries of Solane Alab Kalinga, the CSR arm of Isla LPG Corporation that seeks to reach out to all underprivileged Filipino children nationwide to help fight undernutrition by focusing on projects that promote food security.
