Olivia Rodrigo donates over P118 million from 'GUTS' tour to women's charities worldwide
Making her GUTS tour even more special, Olivia Rodrigo will donate over $2 million (P118 million) to 10 nonprofits globally that champion women's and girls’ health and equity.
Under her “Fund 4 Good” global initiative, the 21-year-old Fil-Am pop star has given the net proceeds from her tour’s ticket sales to 10 organizations, namely the National Network of Abortion Funds (United States) Women’s Shelters Canada; Women Against Violence Europe; The Pratthanadee Foundation (Thailand); Korea Foundation for Women; Harmony House Limited (Hong Kong); NPO Women’s Saya-Saya (Japan); Aidha (Singapore); Wesnet (Australia); and Jhpiego (the Philippines).
The happier singer has traveled to over 60 cities across more than 20 countries in the past months since her Guts tour started in February.
One of her memorable stops was her Silver Star Show in the Philippines last October where all tickets were priced at P1,500. The former Disney star said it was her “biggest show ever.”
“This is such a special milestone for me to not only be visiting the Philippines for the first time but performing here for my fans,” she told Billboard after her show at the Philippine Arena. “I’m so proud of my Filipino heritage, so being able to bring this experience to the Philippines means the world to me.”
In her cover story with the outlet, Rodrigo opened up about why she used her tour as the platform for her advocacy.
“Being on tour [so soon] after Roe v. Wade got overturned made activism very important—especially considering I performed in many states that currently have abortion bans in place,” she said.
“I wanted to do everything I could to support organizations in each territory that are doing essential work in providing access to health care and other human rights,” she added.
In the early parts of her tour, she made headlines in March for handing out emergency contraceptives and condoms to concertgoers in partnership with a local nonprofit in Missouri.
The GUTS tour will conclude in 2025 in Brazil and Mexico.
