Police have arrested seven suspects, including the alleged mastermind, in the fatal shooting of online seller couple Arvin and Lerma Lulu in Pampanga. They also revealed the potential motive for the crime.

Three of the suspects were presented to the media in a press briefing on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

According to authorities, investigations showed that the alleged mastermind owed the victims P13 million, which was a possible motive for the murder.

Pampanga police provincial director PCol. Jay Dimaandal said that the alleged mastermind looked for a middleman to have Arvin and Lerma murdered. He also hired gunmen and allegedly paid them P900,000 to steal a check as well as two mobile phones at the couple’s home.

Police are likewise looking into the possible involvement of his wife in the crime.

Firearms as well as identification cards, among others were also recovered during the operations.

The suspects are now facing two counts of murder.

Lerma and Arvin, who sold beauty products starting in 2015, were in their car on Oct. 4 when two motorcycle riders came up and gunned them down over the weekend. Arvin was shot six times and Lerma three.

Their six-year-old kid and Lerma's teenage cousin, who were in the car with them, weren't hit.

GMA News previously reported that a witness was able to provide information on the shooting. There was also clear closed-circuit television footage that showed the suspect.
