Queen Elizabeth's godchild dies due to severe head injury
The godchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II has died following a severe head injury.
Multiple media outlets including Hello! and PEOPLE Magazine reported that Lord Charles O’Hagan passed away on March 23. He was 79 years old.
According to PEOPLE, O'Hagan became one of the late monarch's 30 godchildren when she was still a princess and before she became a mother.
He was Page of Honor to Elizabeth when she was crowned as queen in June 1953 at Westminster Abbey in London and had the ceremonial role from 1959 to 1962.
He was the grandson of British politician Maurice Towneley-O'Hagan.
O'Hagan graduated from Eton and Oxford, and was a member of the European Parliament between 1973 and 1975 as well as 1979 and 1994 for Devon.
Per the media publication, O'Hagan had three marriages. From 1967 to 1984, he was married to Georgian Princess Tamara Imeretinsky. He later tied the knot with Mary Claire Roose-Francis and ended their marriage 10 years later. In 1995, he exchanged "I dos" with Elizabeth Lesley Eve Smith.
