'Tahanang Pinakamasaya' to go off air on March 8
Tahanang Pinakamasaya, formerly GMA Network’s noontime show Eat Bulaga! which underwent rebranding after losing an arduous trademark case against Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey De Leon, is going off the air on March 8.
Producer TAPE Inc. made the announcement after airing a replay on Thursday, March 7, photos of which was shared by Kapuso reporter Nelson Canlas.
“It is with a heavy heart that we inform our televiewers that our noontime show Tahanang Pinakamasaya on Kapuso network, GMA 7, will no longer be on air effective March 8, 2024,” the statement read.
TAPE thanked the network “for a long and fruitful partnership.”
“GMA 7’s kind consideration and understanding of the company’s unwanted circumstances have been instrumental in helping the company in this transition,” it said. “Despite our best efforts to save the show, both parties have reached a mutual agreement to finally call off the show.”
TAPE also thanked “the loyal viewers, esteemed hosts, supporting advertisers, hardworking crew, and dedicated employees who have been with us from the very beginning.” It ended its statement with an “optimistic ‘See you again!’”
Tahanang Pinakamasaya aired its final episode on March 2, only using replays afterward until Thursday today.
The show started using the name “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” last January after the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPhl) revoked the “Eat Bulaga!” and “EB” trademark from TAPE in December.
TVJ, who transferred to TV5 for a new show called E.A.T. following internal issues with TAPE, started using the Eat Bulaga! theme again after the IPOPHL decision.
