Published Jun 17, 2025 2:25 pm

The University of the Philippines gave details on the University Predicted Grade appeal cutoffs for new applicants for the academic year 2025 to 2026.

The UPG is the combined score of an applicant's weighted College Admission Test score (60%) and the weighted average of their grades in high school (40%). The admission test results are ranked according to the examinees’ UPGs.

According to their announcement, applicants with a UPG of at least 2.800, or waitlisted applicants who have not been offered a degree program may appeal through the DIWA portal from June 19 to 20.

Applicants for the upcoming academic year may refer to the following cutoffs below to appeal to the UP Office of Admissions of their chosen campus—except UP Diliman, which is not accepting appeals:

  • Baguio- 2.700
  • Cebu- 2.800
  • Diliman- No Appeals
  • Los Baños- 2.800
  • Manila- 2.580
  • Mindanao- 2.800
  • Open University- 2.800
  • Pampanga- 2.600
  • Tacloban- 2.800
  • Visayas (Iloilo)- 2.700

UP noted that some campuses or degree programs have additional requirements to appeal. You should also keep in mind that only degree programs and campuses where you meet the appeals criteria and have available slots will appear in the DIWA portal for you.

The results of the appeal will be released on June 21. If you are offered a slot, make sure to reply to the offer by the following day at 11:59 p.m., otherwise, your slot will be forfeited.

Another round of appeals may be done from June 25 to 26 if additional slots become available. Results for this will be released on June 27, and replies must be sent by the next day.

You can access the DIWA portal through this link.

UP released the results of the 2025 UPCAT last April. During the media briefing, UP President Angelo Jimenez said that the school is "opening doors that lead to opportunity, and hopefully to nation-building, and the lifelong journey and service."

"To the successful examinees, congratulations to all of you. Your hard work, your dreams, and your potential have brought you to this very moment" Jimenez said. "To those who didn't make it, know that this is not the end of the course, but the beginning of the many paths you can take towards your goals. UP is just one way to serve the country and to promote your dreams."

Jimenez said that out of the 135,236 UPCAT applicants, 17,996 or 13% passed, including those who are still on waitlist. This was a 6.74% increase from 2024.
