Aspiring beauty queens in California can now join Miss World PH through its franchise holder
Heads up, aspiring Filipino beauty queens from California! This is your chance to showcase your "beauty with a purpose" as the Miss World Philippines organization expands its reach to the United States.
On Instagram, the local pageant organization announced that the Filipino community in California now has an official Miss World Philippines franchise holder through Jojo Verdaflor, whom the organization called an "esteemed franchise partner since 2017."
"His unwavering loyalty and exceptional talent have consistently sent representatives from the Filipino community in Los Angeles, California to the prestigious Miss World Philippines competition," the caption read.
Moreover, the post also included how interested applicants can inquire to represent the said state.
More and more franchises
Over the past few months, the Miss World Philippines organization has extended its scope by granting franchises to other regions, including the provinces of Bukidnon, Olangapo City, Zambales, and Bataan.
In 2023, the pageant organizer also announced local franchise holders for Cebu and Western Visayas, adding that winners from Limgas Na Pangasinan, a local beauty pageant search in the province of Pangasinan, will be the representatives of the latter province in the Miss World Philippines pageant.
This year's winner will be crowned by Miss World Philippines 2022 Gwendolyne Furniol.
Furniol failed to secure a spot in the Top 40 of the 71st Miss World held on March 9 in India.
Before the coronation night, she was among the Top 23 talent semifinalists and Top 25 finalists of Miss World's Head-to-Head Challenge, where she impressed the jury with her speech that spotlighted education as part of her Beauty With A Purpose advocacy.
Actress Megan Young remains the first and only Pinay winner of Miss World. She won the competition in 2013.
