PH's Alethea Ambrosio named Miss Supranational Asia and Oceania, finishes in Top 12
Philippines bet Alethea Ambrosio was named Miss Supranational Asia and Oceania at the recently concluded Miss Supranational 2024 on Sunday, July 7 (Philippine Time).
This award was given to the highest-placing delegate from the region who did not advance to the Top 5. Alethea made it to the Top 12.
Indonesia's Harashta Haifa Zahra was crowned Miss Supranational 2024 by her predecessor Ecuador's Andrea Aguilera.
Meanwhile, representatives from the United States, the Czech Republic, Brazil, and Curacao were named as runners-up, respectively.
During the Top 12 round, the beauty queen hailing from Bulacan convinced the judges why she deserved to be the next Miss Supranational title holder.
"In my country, where beauty queens are often applauded for speaking in English, I won my national title using Filipino, our national language. As a cultural torchbearer, I seek to lead the path in forging cross-cultural understanding among my sisters as your next Miss Supranational ambassadress," she said.
Previously, Alethea walked in the national costume competition in a Sampaguita-inspired ensemble created by Filipino designer Ehrran Montoya.
During the preliminary evaluation, she also donned a custom gold armor warrior-inspired fringed gown designed by Larry Espinosa, evoking the image of a "dignified, elegant Amazon queen."
In the 2023 iteration of the pageant, Pauline Amelinckx finished as first runner-up.
The Philippines currently has one Miss Supranational title holder, Mutya Datul, in 2013.
