NBI to summon Jam Ignacio over alleged assault of Jellie Aw

Published Feb 17, 2025 7:41 pm

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is set to subpoena Jam Ignacio after his fiancée, DJ and social media influencer Jellie Aw, accused him of physical abuse.

This came after Jellie sought help from the NBI on Friday, Feb. 14, and filed a complaint against Jam, a few days after she shared photos of her bruised-up face, alleging that her fiancé beat her up.

"Inutusan ko agad ang VAWCD [Violence Against Women and Children Division] nung time na nagreklamo ‘yung DJ na puntahan, kunin, mahuli agad but then ang daming place naming pinuntahan, masyado siyang malikot,” NBI Director Jaime Santiago said, per the ABS-CBN report.

He added that they tried to conduct a hot pursuit operation immediately after the incident.

“During that time na kakaganap lang ng krimen, papasok pa sa hot pursuit. Pero at this point in time, isu-subpoena na lang siya ng aming VAWCD na pumunta rito, sumurrender, magbigay ng statement,” he said.

Per the report, Santiago said the case will go through a preliminary investigation.

Meanwhile, Jellie said in a previous interview with the outlet that their fight started when Jam became jealous of her fellow DJ. She added that while she still has his contact number, she is unsure whether she can reach him as he might already be aware of the case against him.

"Ang message ko lang sa kanya, madali lang naman magpatawad eh. Pero 'yung ginawa niya sa'kin, hindi ko makakalimutan 'yun. Iba 'yung trauma eh. Ang hirap matulog, lagi kong naaalala 'yung ginawa niya sa'kin," she said.

"So gusto ko lang, Jam, na harapin mo 'yung ginawa mo sa'kin. 'Yun lang, para hindi mo na magawa sa ibang babae," she continued.

She took to her social media pages early morning of Wednesday, Feb. 12 to share photos of her swollen and bruised-up face after allegedly being beaten by Jam, who is the ex-boyfriend of TV host Karla Estrada.

Her sister, Jo Aw, detailed the incident, saying Jam suddenly beat up Jellie in a locked car.

She added that Jellie was only able to ask for help when they were at a toll gate. Jellie then got a medical checkup before they filed a police report.

The two got engaged in November last year after four months of dating.
