Bride dies in motorcycle accident while delivering wedding invitations
A Guatemalan woman, days before her wedding, has died after she was caught in a fatal road accident. She was out sending invites to her upcoming wedding this December.
In a report by news outlets in Mexico, 24-year-old Madelyn Rosely Caracun Perez and her 29-year-old fiancé, Davilson Gesell Canimac Miranda, were distributing wedding invitations by motorbike on Dec. 4.
Around noontime, a truck that was driving nearby had a mechanical problem where one of its parts broke off, causing it to crash towards the couple.
While Miranda received serious injuries from the accident, Perez was declared dead on the scene after she was thrown from the motorbike. Her fiancé is now receiving treatment at the hospital.
Police officers who responded to the tragedy marked the crash with yellow tape just as traffic was beginning to pile up in the area.
The couple's family members detailed that the couple was just finalizing wedding invitations for their upcoming December 14th ceremony.
Perez’s loved ones paid tribute to her by visiting her crash site and bidding her their farewells. Her parents appealed to the authorities to conduct an investigation into the incident and hold the suspect accountable.
Police have yet to give details on the condition of the driver who was steering the truck.
Perez's funeral will be held in the coming weeks, with her family planning to raise money to cover the costs of Miranda's treatment in the hospital.
