LIST: Malls offering temporary shelter, free overnight parking to those affected by habagat
The past few days of relentless rain have left parts of Metro Manila dealing with widespread flooding.
The southwest monsoon, or habagat, has brought heavy rainfall across the capital after a week of weather disturbances, with Metro Manila placed under a red rainfall warning on Aug. 9. Flooding has since been reported in several areas, including parts of Parañaque, Las Piñas, Malabon, Quezon City, Manila, and Cavite.
With more heavy rain still expected in the coming days, some malls around Metro Manila are opening their doors to those who need a temporary place to stay. Several have also announced free overnight parking for motorists who may be unable to safely make it home.
If you're stranded or looking for a safer place to wait out the rain, here are the malls offering temporary shelter and/or free overnight parking on Aug. 9:
Ayala Malls
Several Ayala Malls are open as temporary community shelters, with facilities such as waiting areas, restrooms, and charging stations available beyond mall hours.
Overnight parking fees have also been waived. These malls include the following:

- Ayala Malls Feliz
- Ayala Malls The 30th
- Ayala Malls Marikina
- Ayala Malls Trinoma
- Ayala Malls UP Town Center
- Ayala Malls Fairview Terraces
- Ayala Malls Vertis North
- Ayala Malls Harbor Point
- Ayala Malls Evo City
- Ayala Malls Vermosa
- Ayala Malls Cloverleaf
- Ayala Malls Arca South
- Ayala Malls Serin
- Glorietta by Ayala Malls
- One Ayala by Ayala Malls
- Greenbelt by Ayala Malls
- The District Dasmariñas
Mana Town Center
Mana Town Center in Kawit, Cavite has issued an advisory to the public that the center is closed on Aug. 9 to ensure the safety of its customers and staff.
However, parking fees are waived for residents who wish to seek shelter from this typhoon.
Mitsukoshi BGC
Mitsukoshi BGC announced that "in the spirit of omotenashi" or the practice of hospitality in Japan, they are opening their doors to anyone seeking safety from the weather until Aug. 10.
The amenities include free overnight parking from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., WiFi service, and charging stations.
Fisher Mall
Fisher Mall in Quezon City is also offering free overnight parking on Aug. 9.
