Hong Kong police in search for murdered model Abby Choi's other missing remains
Hong Kong authorities have launched an official search at a nearby landfill suspected to contain possible dismembered remains of influencer Abby Choi.
Over 100 uniformed personnel sifted through a Ta Kwu Ling landfill looking for both missing body parts and any other personal belongings of the late 28-year-old that could serve as evidence for her killing.
Previously, around 100 police officers similarly scanned through a cemetery that was also suspected to be a dumping ground for Choi's other missing remains.
The Hong Kong-based model was last seen by her ex-husband's brother, who had worked as her chauffeur, before being first reported missing on Feb. 22.
Police held a press conference on Feb. 25, saying they found Choi's body parts in a rental unit in Tai Po district on Feb. 24. They also found a meat slicer, an electric saw, and two pots of stew which supposedly contained human tissue.
The police have arrested four people in relation to the case, including Choi's ex-husband, who attempted to flee the city by boat on the same day her death was reported. His parents and brother were likewise arrested for murder.
According to authorities, the said family had lied to mislead investigators.
"We believe the victim and her ex-husband's family had many financial disputes involving huge sums... Someone was dissatisfied with how the victim handled her assets, which became a motive to kill," superintendent Alan Chung told the media.
