Chinese mukbang influencer Ganfan Yingying has passed away. She was 24.

According to Chinese media, her parents confirmed her passing but did not specify the cause of her death.

Her final video was posted on Aug. 14, in which she spoke about the health problems she experienced from repeatedly consuming large amounts of food.

“I kept eating repeatedly, lost potassium, and was hospitalized,” she said.

At the time, she acknowledged that her condition could be related to her mukbang activities. “Earning money is important, but health always comes first,” she reminded her followers.

The social media personality had been open about the physical toll of mukbangs on her. In livestreams where she sold preserved duck eggs, she reportedly had to eat around 60 to 70 eggs in a single session. While consuming large amounts of food was seen as beneficial for her content, Yingying—per Chinese media outlet Huanqiu—previously said her body was not able to handle it well, so there were times when she had to induce vomiting after eating.

Yingying gained more than 1 million followers through her food content that featured food challenges and mukbang livestreams. She also promoted food products on her social media pages.
