Parents of baby in JK Labajo's gig debunk claims about viral moment

The parents of the baby in OPM singer Juan Karlos Labajo's Tarlac gig have broken their silence, clarifying that their child is already seven months old and they actually went to the show for her.

In an interview with GMA News Online, Niel Patrick Tubino and his wife Fyan showed footage of the concert to clarify their baby's age.

According to Niel, JK read out the banner they were holding that reads: "Kahit isang karga lang mula sa pinakabata mong fan, Kuya JK."

"2 months pa lang, kasama ka na nito!" Niel then shouted to the Ere singer, which earned JK's reply, "Two months!?"

Moreover, the baby was said to be a "fan" of JK since she was two months old, Fyan said. Their kid heard Ere when she immediately searched for the song on YouTube after discovering its title.

Later, the song proved soothing for her baby and became her lullaby.

"Naalala ko iyong sinabi ng pedia sa akin na ‘music can sooth babies, music can calm them, can make them relax.’ So 'di ko naman in-expect na doon sa song na ‘yon ni JK, doon siya ma-re-relax. Every time na mag-pe-play ‘yon, napapansin kong tumatahimik siya," she told the media outlet.

Due to the song's lyrics that include foul words, Fyan sets the record straight that she wouldn't let her daughter listen to the music if she knew the meaning. This was in response to some social media users who questioned her capabilities as a mom for allowing her child to listen to the song.

“Siyempre alam naman natin na yung mga baby 'di pa nila alam 'yung words,” she explained, adding that her daughter, Fiyana sleeps better with louder music.

"So ‘nung naririnig niyang may tumutugtog na, unti-unti na siyang nakakatulog."

In case you didn't know, JK expressed his concerns for the child's safety after he spotted the baby in the crowd brought by its parents during his concert.

In a video posted by LifeofEs, the Buwan singer was seen addressing the crowd after seeing the crying infant.

"Two months? Ba’t mo pinaparinig ng Ere ‘yung bata? Two months pa lang, maaga, wag," he began at the recorded video.

“Wala bang earmuffs si baby? Umiiyak na si baby, okay lang ba ‘yan? Umiiyak, kawawa naman ‘yung bata,” he said.

The singer was also seen cradling the baby on stage while talking to a guy who appeared to be one of the staff members at the event.

He later addressed the crowd to remind them to prioritize child safety and to refrain from bringing those below one-year-old as they are still sensitive to loud noises.

"Yung mga bata, especially one-year below super sensitive pa yung mga tenga nila," he said, and then asked his staff if there were any headphones they could give to help comfort the child.

"Maraming salamat sa suporta, but please alagaan niyo si baby,” he stressed.

In their defense, Fyan and Niel told GMA News: “Kaya niya kinarga si baby kasi ni-request namin na makarga niya. Hindi dahil sa gusto nya. Hesitant kasi siya talaga."

"Sabi ko, kahit isang karga lang. Tas nung binuhat na niya, dun tumigil si baby," she explained, sharing that JK also signed their baby’s feeding bottle and even invited them backstage.

“Thankful at binigyan nya ng airtime si baby. Napagbigyan niya kaming parents. Core memory ‘yon at balang araw makikita ni Fiyana na sa edad niyang ‘yon nakarga siya ni JK na super idol nya. Maaaring malimutan agad ni JK ‘yon pero sa amin, sobrang tatatak ‘yon. Kaya thankful kami sa kanya."
