Published Dec 02, 2024 9:00 am

Volvo Philippines, now under the stewardship of Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), proudly unveils the Volvo EX30, the brand’s latest fully electric sub-compact SUV designed to have the lowest carbon footprint of any Volvo car to date. This launch marks the beginning of a promising partnership between Volvo and HARI, a trusted leader in automotive distribution for almost 25 years.

HARI’s role as Volvo’s official distributor in the Philippines ushers in an exciting era for the iconic Swedish carmaker. Known for pioneering safety and sustainability, Volvo continues to align its global values with local aspirations. “We are proud to bring the World of Volvo to Filipino customers,” said HARI Vice Chair, President, and CEO Maria Fe Perez-Agudo. “Our mission is to make Volvo’s innovative and environmentally conscious vehicles accessible, starting with the remarkable EX30.”

The EX30 is Volvo's first fully electric sub-compact SUV, boasting the lowest carbon footprint of any Volvo EV to date, while still offering the full suite of safety features the brand is renowned for.
The Volvo EX30: Big Volvo technology, small carbon footprint

The EX30 reflects Volvo’s dedication to reducing environmental impact without compromising performance or luxury. This fully electric compact SUV sets new benchmarks with:

  • Compact Power: Despite its smaller size, the EX30 delivers up to 272 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in just 5.3 seconds, and boasts a range of up to 476 kilometers per charge.
  • Conscious in Every Detail: Built using 25 percent recycled aluminum, 17 percent recycled steel, and 17 percent recycled plastics, the EX30 is produced in facilities powered by renewable energy. It embodies Volvo’s goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.

Thoughtful Design: Its Scandinavian-inspired cabin combines minimalist elegance with functional beauty, featuring refined recycled materials and innovative technologies like a Harman Kardon sound system and Google integration.
  • Safety That Leads the Industry: The EX30 seamlessly integrates its whole safety system where Pilot Assist manages speed, distance, and steering. Working in unison, Driver Attention Monitoring detects signs of fatigue or distraction, ensuring the driver remains focused. Adding a critical layer, the Collision Avoidance System steps in to warn, brake, or steer when necessary, ensuring a cohesive system works designed to make every journey safer.
A legacy of purpose and progress

Volvo’s journey toward sustainability has been marked by groundbreaking milestones, from the invention of the three-point seatbelt to its commitment to electrifying its entire lineup. By 2030, Volvo aims to have 90-100 percent of its global sales volume consist of electrified cars while reducing CO2 emissions per vehicle by up to 75 percent. These efforts are part of the company’s ultimate goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040.

HARI’s partnership with Volvo is a shared vision to redefine the Filipino driving experience through a balanced portfolio of mild hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and fully electric vehicles, bridging today’s needs with tomorrow’s aspirations.
