May 27 announced as regular holiday in observance of Eid'l Adha—Palace
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared May 27 a regular holiday in the country in observance of Eid'l Adha, or Feast of Sacrifice.
This was announced on Thursday evening through Proclamation No. 1264 signed by acting executive secretary Ralph G. Recto.
In an advisory last May 18, the Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta' BARMM announced the commencement of the blessed month of Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH.
The council added that the Day of Arafah will fall on May 26, followed by the observance of Eid al-Adha on May 27.
"As Muslims around the world welcome these sacred days of devotion, sacrifice, and reflection, the Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta’ calls upon the Ummah to maximize this blessed season through sincere worship, prayers, fasting, charity, and acts of compassion and unity," they said.
Eid al-Adha is one of the most sacred holidays in Islam, honoring the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim through prayers, acts of charity, and the sharing of a sacrificial feast with family, neighbors, and those in need.
