‘Keep shining bright, Rabiya!” Local celebs express their support for Rabiya Mateo
Messages of love and support for Rabiya Mateo flooded social media after she failed to take home the Philippines’ fifth Miss Universe crown.
Mateo, one of the favorites during the preliminary competition, continues the Philippines’ semi-final streak in the Miss Universe pageant. Even if she didn’t make it to the Top 10, she still delivered a strong performance in the competition.
Here’s how local celebrities reacted to the pageant journey of the 24-year-old beauty queen:
For TV host and actress Alex Gonzaga, Filipinos are “proud and grateful” for Rabiya for representing the country.

In a separate tweet, Concepcion said that “a beauty queen still achieves so many dreams on her #Miss Universe journey.” She also advised her followers to focus on a queen’s achievements, rather than her failures.
Nasasad ako pag sinabing a beauty queen “failed” to reach top spots sa competition. A beauty queen still “achieves” so many dreams on her #MissUniverse journey! Why not highlight achievements rather than failures? ♥️
