MRT-7 project will have 14 stations, including SJDM—DOTr
The Department of Transportation has clarified that the MRT-7, which is currently under construction, will have 14 stations, including one in San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan.
This comes amid reports that the upcoming train line will have only 13 stations, excluding SJDM.
"The [SJDM] Station remains part of the MRT-7 project and has not been removed from the approved alignment," the DOTr said in a statement on May 31.
The agency added that it is on track to start operations of the initial 12 stations of the MRT-8 by the second quarter of 2027. This includes stops from Sacred Heart to North Avenue.
"Meanwhile, the Tala and SJDM stations are expected to be completed and opened to the riding public in 2028," it continued.
The 14-station MRT-7 will have the following stops:
- North Avenue
- Quezon Memorial Circle
- University Avenue
- Tandang Sora
- Don Antonio
- Batasan
- Manggahan
- Doña Carmen
- Regalado
- Mindanao Avenue
- Quirino Avenue
- Sacred Heart
- Tala
- San Jose del Monte
The MRT-7 is expected to cut travel time between Quezon City and Bulacan to 35 minutes and is projected to serve up to 850,000 passengers daily.
