Globe, Smart, Dito, and more: How to register your SIM card through your telco

By AYIE LICSI Published Dec 27, 2022 1:25 pm

SIM card registration has officially begun on Dec. 27, and Filipino users have 180 days to register with their respective telco or network provider.

The three biggest telcos in the country have opened websites for their subscribers to begin registering their numbers. The Sim Card Registration Act was passed on Oct. 10 amid the spread of spam and scam texts, which in recent months, bear the full names of unsuspecting Filipinos.

For those who are starting to register with their telcos, you must present a valid government ID and personal information such as your full name, birthday, sex, present or official address, and ID number. See the full list of accepted IDs here.

Here's how to register your sim through the different network providers.

Globe

Existing Globe Postpaid, Platinum, and Business Postpaid customers already have their data and information with Globe—just wait for an official message from Globe to confirm your details and complete your registration.

Meanwhile, Globe, TM, and GOMO prepaid subscribers can register through the Globe website. As of writing, the link provided by the telco redirects only to the FAQ page, so best stay tuned to Globe's official social media accounts for announcements.

When the SIM registration website is up and running, you'll be asked to enter your 10-digit mobile number and enter an OTP that you'll receive via text. Then, enter your information and upload a photo of your government ID as well as a selfie.

After agreeing to the privacy terms, click submit to finish the registration process. Take a picture of the reference number that will appear onscreen as proof of your registration.

Globe said that it will soon make SIM Card Registration available on the GlobeOne App. GOMO users who already have a GOMO PH app account just need to make sure their details are updated and correct.

Smart

Like Globe, Smart postpaid subscribers only simply need to confirm their personal information by texting YES to 5858 when they get the registration text message.

Smart, TNT, and Sun prepaid subscribers can visit smart.com.ph/simreg where they can enter their information. The process will be similar to Globe's where you upload photos of your IDs as well. According to Smart's Facebook post, those who register will also get free 3GB of data.

As of 10 a.m., Smart posted an advisory that some subscribers might be experiencing difficulty accessing the SIM registration site due to the high volume of registrants.

DITO

All DITO SIM card users—postpaid and prepaid—will need to register their numbers with the teclo. Existing subscribers can register by clicking the SIM Registration banner in the DITO app or at dito.ph/RegisterDITO.
