Excited for Philippine Book Festival 2024?

This year’s festival, dubbed as the country’s largest of its kind, will feature 160 exhibitors with numerous books for readers to enjoy as well as activities to check out.

In addition to browsing different genres and titles, attendees can view manuscripts of Jose Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo.

The National Book Development Board (NBDB), which organizes the PBF, on Facebook noted that Noli and El Fili’s manuscripts can be seen up close, as they are new additions to the National Library’s Rare Book Collection.

Rizal’s translations and illustrations of Danish author Hans Christian Andersen’s tales are also available for viewing.

The PBF would also have a lecture with National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Ricky Lee. He will present his scriptwriting manual Trip to Quiapo, where he also talks about art and life.

Other activities include book signing sessions from over 100 Filipino authors, cosplaying of Philippine literary characters, and sales from over 160 publishers.

Attendees are also invited to dress up as their favorite characters from their favorite Philippine literary pieces.

The country’s inaugural PBF was held last June 2023 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay. Its second edition was held in August of the same year at SMX Davao.

The 2024 PBF will be held at the World Trade Center Metro Manila from April 25 to 28.

The event is free of charge but requires online registration.
