UK to welcome Sinovac-vaxed travelers starting Nov 22
Travellers who have been fully incoluated with China’s Sinovac or Sinopharm vaccines can now enter the United Kingdom effective Nov. 22.
The UK’s Department of Transport likewise added India’s Covaxin to the country’s approved list of vaccines for inbound travellers, which takes its cue from the World Health Organization’s Emergency Use Listing.
Previous vaccine brands included in the list are Oxford/Astrazeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson’s.
According to the government notice, travellers “must have proof of full vaccination with a full course of an approved vaccine.” Travellers from the Philippines, according to the listing, may present a vaccine certificate.
A Reuters report also states that all people under the age of 18 will be treated as fully vaccinated at the border and will be able to enter UK without self-isolating on arrival. (Bim Santos)
