The Bureau of Immigration (BI) intercepted a Pinay traveler at NAIA after presenting a fake Belgian passport she bought via TikTok.

In a statement released on Saturday, Sept. 9, the agency said the Filipina, identified as Josephine, attempted to board a Kuwait Airlines flight to Ercan, Cyprus at the NAIA Terminal 1. She said she was planning to move from Kuwait to Izmir, Turkey.

The BI, however, noted numerous inconsistencies on her passport and supposed arrival stamps.

After undergoing forensic screening, BI’s Forensic Documents laboratory confirmed that Josephine’s passport, residence card, and immigration stamps were all fake.

"She was about to be arrested for being an illegal alien after insisting that she is Belgian when she admitted that she has a Philippine passport, and used to be an overseas Filipino worker in Israel," the BI said.

According to the BI, Josephine allegedly paid P700,000 for her fake documents and was told by her recruiter that she had been accepted as a caregiver with a P180,000 monthly salary in Greece.

The Pinay was immediately turned over to the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking "for assistance and filing of appropriate charges against her recruiter."
