ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin eyes reconciliation with HYBE after winning lawsuit
ADOR head Min Hee-jin suggested her desire to reconcile with HYBE during a press conference following her legal win.
According to reports, Min, the producer of girl group NewJeans, revealed her plans of reconciliation to mother company HYBE as the retained head of subsidiary company ADOR.
"I would like to suggest a reconciliation to HYBE. I wasn't the one who started this fight, but I am taking this opportunity to express my intention to remain at ADOR as CEO," she said.
"If I were thinking only of my own future, I would choose otherwise. But if I continue to work toward the plans I envisioned with the NewJeans members, I do not believe that it will bring losses to anyone. I want to suggest a rational approach. I was also hurt emotionally by recent events," Min added.
With a big smile on her face, NewJeans' manager expressed her gratitude after the court approved the injunction she filed against HYBE.
"My heart feels light because I am here after winning my case. There are many reasons for holding this press conference, but first and foremost, I wanted to relay my thoughts on the current situation," she opened in her statement.
"Because my name was cleared of the accusations, I do feel like a weight is off of me. Whether the person is actually guilty or not, a person can become a criminal just by having someone accusing them as the perpetrator of some problem. Because I did not consider this fair, I filed an injunction. And the injunction was approved, so from my end, I feel like I can lay down some of the burden," she explained.
Min emphasized that she wanted to achieve her vision with the rising girl group New Jeans as they are preparing for a concert in Japan in June, and a world tour for next year. She also revealed that the group eyes to release music at the end of the year.
"I would like to ask that you let me carry out my plans for NewJeans. I was hurt, and the members were also hurt by these events. If I had my way, I would reset everything to zero and just go back to my work," Min said.
On May 17, the five-member girl group, which includes Hanni, Danielle, Minji, Hyein, and Haeri, filed a petition to prevent the dismissal of the CEO as per a report by The Korea Times.
While NewJeans voiced out their support amidst the conflict, the details of the petition filed were not disclosed to the public.
On April 25, HYBE filed a complaint claiming that Min tried to plot with her aides to take possession of the company and separate NewJeans from her.
In the same month, Min also released a lengthy statement, slamming HYBE for allowing Belift Lab's ILLIT to allegedly "copy" the Super Shy singers.
