NewJeans has reportedly submitted a petition to oppose the dismissal of ADOR’s CEO Min Heejin amid the latter’s dispute with parent company HYBE.

According to a report by The Korea Times, members of the fifth-gen girl group—Hanni, Danielle, Minji, Hyein, and Haerin—submitted a petition on Friday, May 17 during the first hearing on the injunction against HYBE at the Seoul Central District Court.

However, the details of the petitions were not disclosed. This marks the first time that the group expressed their side on the dispute, following the emails sent allegedly by the members’ parents “attacking HYBE.”

Min filed the injunction last week to prevent HYBE from “exercising its voting rights as the largest shareholder in her company at a shareholders' meeting” which is set for May 31.

Some issues to be tackled include the dismissal of Min and other ADOR members and the appointment of new directors from HYBE, as per the report.

In April, HYBE filed a complaint against Min, accusing her of trying to take over ADOR to become independent from the parent company, which the latter denied.

In the same month, Min also released a lengthy statement, slamming HYBE for allowing Belift Lab's ILLIT to copy the Super Shy singers.

"ILLIT is copying NewJeans in all aspects of entertainment activities, including hair, makeup, clothing, choreography, photos, videos, and event appearances," she said, as reported by Korean outlet Soompi.

NewJeans is a five-member group known for their Y2K aesthetics, as well as for their hit tracks, including OMGDittoHype Boy, and Super Shy

Two years after their debut in July 2022, the group bagged the Group of the Year Award at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music.
