Philippines' Dia Maté wins Reina Hispanoamericana 2025
Dia Maté is Reina Hispanoamericana 2025!
The Pinay beauty queen took home the country's second Reina Hispanoamericana crown after besting 24 other candidates during the pageant's coronation night on Feb. 10 (Philippine time) in Bolivia.
Miss Venezuela Sofia Fernandez emerged as Virreina Hispanoamericana, while Miss Colombia Sharon Gamarra was named first runner-up.
Maté was crowned by Reina Hispanoamericana 2023 Maricielo Gamarra of Peru.
During the Q&A, the Pinay was asked "What value do you think is most important to create a fair society and how do you think this is important?"
"I think the most important value we should have is kindness. And my experience here in Bolivia, Latinos have shown me so much kindness and so much love even though racially, I am not Latina. And the most beautiful thing I've noticed is that even though we don't speak the same language, we share the same culture, same heart, and same faith in God. I hope this shows everybody that if we use kindness, we can show that we are all the same. We can create a better world and better society for us all."
In the finals, Maté donned a gorgeous gold evening gown by Rian Fernandez which featured embroidery and crystals all over the outfit.
The 22-year-old Pinay showed off her vocal chops as she sang a few bars to open the night's swimsuit competition. She donned a one-piece black suit and completed the look with a dazzling smile.
On Feb. 4, Maté won the Best in National Costume Award (Mejor Traje Tipico) for her Errhan Montoya "Banaag" costume inspired by the Baroque Churches of the Philippines.
She's the second Filipina to win the Reina Hispanoamericana crown after Winwyn Marquez in 2017.
Maté is a singer-songwriter, who recently released her single Ganda-Gandahan. Her partner is singer Juan Karlos Labajo.
"Congratulations baby!" Labajo wrote on Instagram following the beauty queen's win.
