The cause of death of Na Dong-hyun, popularly known as the YouTuber "The Great Library," has been revealed.

His ex-wife, content creator Yum-cast, whose real name is Lee Chae-won, said that autopsy reports showed that Dong-hyun passed away due to cerebral hemorrhage, per reports by multiple outlets, including The Korea Herald and Korea JoongAng Daily.

“There are stories circulating that are not true,” Lee Chae-won said during her YouTube livestream on Tuesday night.

“I want to clarify certain points so no further misunderstandings cause pain. An autopsy was conducted to avoid any lingering doubts, and it confirmed that the cause of death was a brain hemorrhage," she added, per Korea JoongAng Daily.

She reportedly said that Dong-hyun told him that his blood pressure was a little high and that he needed to take medication.

"But since he didn’t usually have headaches and his checkup two years ago showed no problems, he never had an MRA (magnetic resonance angiography), so the aneurysm wasn’t detected," the content creator said, per the reports.

Chae-won and Dong-hyun were married for eight years until their divorce in 2023. They have since remained friends, per The Korea Times report.

Dong-hyun was discovered dead in his Gwangjin-gu residence on Saturday morning, Sept. 6.

Police said they went to the Korean YouTuber's home to check on him after receiving a report from someone stating that he did not show up to their scheduled meeting "and could not be contacted."

They noted there's no evidence of foul play at the scene.

Dong-hyun had more than a million subscribers on his YouTube page, where he posted gaming content.

According to The Chosun Daily, the social media personality worked as a policy advisory committee member for internet culture at the Korea Communications Commission in 2016. He bagged the award for Men's New Actor in the variety category of the Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards two years later.

He appeared in the Netflix reality show The Influencer, which premiered in 2024.
